Squeaky belt, belt lube=a bad idea???

Quick question, what torx bit # is needed for the ac idler pulley? I need to replace it along with the tensioner

Its probably your idler pulley. I replaced it and it still didn't really go away, but most replacement idle pulleys you aren't supposed to use the dust shields that the stock one used. Took em off and was silent again

so has anyone put lube on the pulleys? i read anotehr post where someone used WD-40 and it worked for a while but it came back. so another person suggested a silicon lubricant. anyone try it?

mine started doing it when its cold out then like some other people stated it goes away after it warms up it started like last week

i have the same problem and i haven't narrowed it down either. i heard the squeak after i had to change the tensioner pulley. if you spray the smallest amount of WD40 or silicone lube it shuts right up for a while but it just comes right back. it was worse when it was cold but since it has warmed up i haven't heard it as often.
