QTP vs. KOOKS Just trying to decide between these two bastards...

Ok the problem with installing QTP's was along time ago with a bad batch (i was unfortunate and got that bad batch), I am pretty sure they have corrected those problems, (correct me if Im wrong). As far as performance goes, QTPs are nice. I make about 334 hp, 345 tq with just the lt's, CAI and leaks in my exhaust untuned and with my cutouts closed. With a tune and my tru duals i should be makin close to 350 hp with just full exhaust and a tune... so that gives u a good idea of QTP's performance.
Kooks are equally good from what ive heard so u cant go wrong with either. Maybe it should come down to pricing.

My Kooks went in extreamly easy, I just had to remove the dip stick to get to a manfold bolt nothing else and no grinding. I put down 329HP/340TQ with Cats, Corsa and an airlid. I had a minor banging problem that was fixed with a crow bar, none since.
As stated above, I think the QTP issues were just a bad batch. Can't go wrong with either.

Ya so all the QTP problems seem to come down to grinding the K member or bending the header, definately dont want to have to do that...
But you think with the QTP that it was just a bad batch and if i were to buy new ones i wouldnt have that problem?

I had to do a bit of grinding, but, it wasn't a big problem. It was difficult to conceed to doing that, for the price of those things, but, it didn't turn out to be to big a deal. They did offer to replace my set, but, I didn't want to have to pull them back off, wait a long time, and them put them back on, so, ultimately, I decided to grind.
My set was from around the beginning of this year, if I remember correct. Probably one of the earlier batches. My brother got a set from a later batch, and we had to grind, and he was prepared, as was I, so it wasn't a big problem either.
BUT, they make good power, and look even better, IMHO.

I think QTP's fitment issues came when they changed suppliers late last year/beginning of this year. I got my QTP/HVMC's early this year and had no installation problems at all. The HVMC's used to be about $1250 but when they changed over to the new supplier the price dropped $500 so a little fitment problems were worth the end result. Maybe they should've done a little more work on getting the headers right the first time but I believe they have them straightened out now. Plus they are polished and look great.
Kooks are quality every time. Its a obvious dicision. Qtp=????? Kooks= 
I've never had any problems with my QTP's . i've had them out a few times now while working on my car. And the install gets easier everytime. I don't have to unbolt anything and i've never had to grind anything. They have awesome clearance too. This is the first time i've every heard so many problem about them.

they are pretty much the same design. When I bought headers, I went with the best deal. At the time it was Kooks and I couldnt be happier.
From what ive read, Kooks ypipes tuck up higher though, but a custom y is the way to go

A little grinding on the K-member, and you'll be squared away.
Try to loosen the two 13mm bolts on the steering shaft, and try to adjust it down a bit. This will change the angle of the shaft, possbily enough, to where you will get better clearance. This worked for me also.
