Default Flowtech Headers

I am curious what you think about Flowtech headers... I had them on my 71 and I never saw any problems with them and I am thinking about getting them again for my 98... I was talking a buddy of mine and he has not heard so many great things about Flowtech headers... I have also never seen a thread about them here, so here it is... What do you guys think of em?

I've got no complaints. I bought the coated ones and the off road Y ~2.5 years ago. They weren't really hard to put in, but they've started to rust. I think any of them would though. My Y pipe cracked a little bit less than a year after I installed them. I called Holley and they mailed me another one. I pulled the old Y, installed the new Y and mailed it back to them. It could have been my fault the Y cracked. I even told them that. They didn't mind. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

the problem with flowtechs is that the flange is very thin and bends easily. if you are going to go with a cheaper set of headers i dont think that you can go wrong with pacesetters. just my .02

+1 for pacesetters. better quality, reputation for one of the easiest installs, same hp gains. no brainer IMO.

Flowtechs are THE cheapest..thin flange...lousy except for old school..even then a buddy hates his..can never get rid of his exhaust leak..tightens it one place, warps somewhere else.

I absolutely hate my Flowtech headers. Biggest piece of crap I bought for my car. Speed inc was out of stock of pacesetters and sent me the flowtechs on accident and wouldn't take them back. Lousy thin flange and welded by 4-yo with down syndrome. I'd save my money and buy QTP's next time around.

Flowtechs are just so cheaply made. They have almost no quality to them. I am dying to get mine off. They are leaking slightly and are horribly rusted. If you wanna go the cheap route, go with pacesetters or possibly even the XS stainless steel headers. Both will get you better results than the flowtechs.

Lol... You are +2.

I would also agree with the pacesetters. I don't know about the LS1 style from flowtech, but they made ok headers for SBC and BBC.
