Default Water Temp guage at 200.

Quick question. I'ved had my car for a year and some months, My temp guage was at 160 and now it's reading 200. I recently flushed the radiator and I'm still seeing my temp at 200. I'm not leaking any water on the radiator or water pump. Any ideas? Should I be worried?Thanx!

Does it have a aftermarket thermostat? The factory ones were set for 210-215? if it doesent get any higher than 200 i wouldnt worry about it. thats the norm.

Stock gauge? Just below 210 after warmed up is normal when warm on 99's and up - mine's always been that way even with a 160 tstat and lowered fan temps.

Starting in 1999, the gauge was really a dummy gauge. It should read somewhere in the middle for normal operating temp. The 210 mark is normally between 180-220 I believe. This is perfectly normal. 160 could have meant your car was at like 175. I wouldn't worry about it. Only worry if it reads up in the 3/4 gauge area.

I guess it's stock. I'm the second owner and the car was completely stock.

those numbers on the gauge are pretty close together. 190-195 is close to 210 on the gauge. 195 is probably what mine is at with the 160 degree thermo
