You have that on the WS6 hood I assume? Anyone have any luck with them on a Raptor hood? Which sponsors sell these? I've been looking for awhile.

I love mine. Looks like a set of nuts hanging off the front of the motor. If you shop it out, you should be able to pick one up for a lot less than the price listed on Volants site.

I had one, the only thing I didnt like about it was how it doesn't support the radiator like it should, the base seemed cheap

U can add washers to bolts holding down the intake box and use zip ties to hold the radiator up... i would advise this, otherwise one of ur hoses can be propped up against the water pump pulley and eventually cut a hole into it. The zip tie thing solved that problem.

I have pics but I'm in school right now and the install is not straight foward. I had to cut some of stuff for a good fit and the sensor from the lid has to be taken out and put on the volant.

I didn't have any fitment/support issues with the radiator. Just have to make sure it's on right.

Supposed to. But from what I've seen it doesn't and I've personally seen a couple cars dyno easily above 500rwhp and one over 600rwhp with a lid.

If a lid can supply enough air to a 408 making 500-600rwhp then they flow good enough and there is only so much air the LSx engines can ingest at any one time. But thats just me.

Its more free flowing than a lid, a more efficient set up for a WS6.

It certainly looks like it could, but I've not seen any back-to-back dyno sessions or proof otherwise that it could. I have seen back-to-back with the Camaro version and it didn't have any gains. In fact, IIRC, the camaro version lost 2 or 3 RWHP (could be dyno discrepancy though)

it's been around for a while. it's roughly 3x the $$ of a lid so it's not wildly popular around here. Was well worth it in my book though.

Good point, but that doesn't necesarily mean the lid is not a restriction. A stock 78mm MAF (bone stock) can flow enough to support 4-500 rwhp, but it is a restriction and there are decent gains to be had by upgrading or !MAF.

I put one on my car and i may just be going a bit crazy but the ride seemed a bit better and it had a smoother idle over the SLP lid I had on it. I like it better and it sort of cleans up the front a bit.

Ya it looks real nice in my opinion and it seems like it would flow better, especially with a ws6/ws9 hood.
