I beg to differ. It is probably the hardest bolt-on to do. Followed by the intake.

You need to go to the local board and find someone around your area that is willing to help you out of their garage. You can learn more about your car, and make an ls1 friend. If you are going to have a shop do it, do alot more research because 500$ is just outrageous.

I have seen 300$ and that seems as close to reasonable as it gets.

Well for me it was close to the easiest. the pacesetters tuck up and fit great.
I've done three clutch installs on my car so far and i find those to be a p.i.t.a..

Lol, I find both fairly easy just from doing so many (my twin disc sucked almost needed an output shaft as an alignment tool Plastic is cheap and flimsy). Cam swaps are probably the most fun though.

the first thing i did was go to the local boards and everyone recommended this shop. i mean, there are threads and threads about this place. they have a good reputation and do good work. i found out that the actual labor charge is $72/hr. it's a little on the high side but what's hurting is the fact they're charging me for 7 hours. so either a) they're not confident they can do it in less than a full work day (bad) or b) they can do it in half the time but are bullshitting me (also bad). thanks for the help guys.

If you pay that...you should just go ahead, sell your car, and buy something else.

Id put the extra effort in and find a local guy that will do it. Just ask ask and ASK around

I paid about 350 for a badass set of Crafstman tools so I could do it myself. Got them installed and kept the tools!
