Default Anyone had the guts to try OBX headers yet

Saw these headers today and searched around and read a little bit about them, but it looks like no one has gave them a shot yet. Anyone tried em?? Anyways Im thinking about it. The resonators that come with them should help cut down on the much dreaded rasp shouldnt they??

I am considering trying them. Depends on how generous my wife is feeling. I also like the resonators off the collectors.

It seems nobody has tried these yet, so I didnt go with them. I liked the idea of the resonators also. They kinda look like cats, and might make the car sound a bit better if you had a cutout open. Just went ahead and ordered some tried and trued pacesetters from TSP so I didnt have any worries till I bolt them on this spring.

What are OBX headers, have a pic? How are resonators different from collectors?

well i havn't read anything about these before but I just did a search on an auction site and they look like a straight rip off of the Supermaxx headers.
Also, I am pretty sure those are cats, not resonators. Why else would there be O2 to bungs welded into the y-pipe right behind them? Youd have an SES light if those weren't cats

Hi

I looked at a picture on e-bay. They didn't look anywhere near as nice as the Suppermax. I would pass. Smart move to go with the Pacesetters.

yea i was wondering that myself. no where did they specifically say if they were long tube or not, but they certainly dont look it. id either get pacesetter lt's or the xs ebay lt's. both have a better reputation than the obx right now (though that may change in a few months), but i personally wouldnt wanna be one of the first guinnea pigs to try them out.

so i send the guy selling these an ebay message asking if they are resonators or cats, and if he has any pics/comments on how they fit.

his reply, "hi they are resonatoros"

the dude cant even spell. not to mention he doesnt even address the second question.

NOTHING pisses me off worse than taking the time to ask a question about something i'm thinking about buying (or already bought) and getting a half assed reply.

my .02, spend the little bit of extra money and get something proven from somebody willing to take 5 minutes out of thier day to answer questions.

yeah someone tried them here and they didnt fit good, the passenger side headers sat against the starter motor, not a good thing. theres a heat shield on the starter for a reason, to kepp heat away. i wouldnt want a hot header against it. Ebay headers=CRAP

They person has a thread going here in this forum, look for it.

those are the other ebay headers that sat on the starter, and yes these are long tubes. they are the same design as the FLP and supermaxx system
