Default Help....Starter won't disengage?

OK. Just did a header swap...and as soon as I connect the neg battery terminal it tries to start the car. The car will crank, but when I turn it off...the starter continues to try to crank it up? Any ideas. I am very sure that I reconnected everything properly...ie the two wires on the strater and the ground that bolts to engine block. Anything else?

I would say to double check your starter connections. That is what it sounds like to me.

Sounds like a short, probably jangled some wires around net to the starter. Another member had this exact same problem recently, try a search for it.

On my 97 there is a little tab that comes off the battery connection to the starter. You have to make sure that tab is in the hole its supposed to be in. That is what happened to me. Puzzled me for quite a while.

Fixed......I just unbolted the 13mm bolt that holds a wire connected to starter then reattached it, really didn't change much. I guess sometimes thats all it takes.
