Default Pacesetter Owners inside

Getting pacesetter LT w/y-pipe off ebay through speed inc. come with o2 extensions, gaskets, fastners...

So are these good gaskets to use or get different ones?
How was the installation??
Any tips for install or if anyone has a write up?

^^werd. Your stock metal gaskets are better.

Install is a breeze. Pretty straight forward to install also.

Install was a breeze on my 02 TA. Just use 4 jack stands (or 2 + 2 ramps) and get the car as high as possible, it'll help out later when you are sliding the LTs in. Must have tools: all kinds of 11mm (open end wrench, normal socket, deep socket) a 3/8 rachet with an adjustable angle, penetration oil . That's about it, as others have said, you might as well change your plugs (get some MSD wires too!) while you are at it, remember the last two(towards rear of car) plugs as well as the last two header bolts are easier to get to from under the car.

I just got done with this install, and after having been quoted 600-900 for a shop to install, it was satisfying to do it in my garage on my own. Also helps to have a second set of hands when you're ripping stock stuff out.

+1 on teh stock gaskets, the paper ones are crap.

I installed mine myself also, i've worked on my cars for a long time though so it was pretty easy and straight forward to me.

Use the OEM gaskets
The O2 extensions suck buy new O2's Bosch 13111. Or you can buy the plug an play type extensions. I used the extensions from my pacesetter's and they worked for about a week.

Just jack the car up high enough and they'll slip right in through the bottom. If you got an ORY you'll need O2 sims for the back or have the codes deleted from the computer. Might as well get a cuout too , and get the race kind. I didn't and i ended up deleting the stuff anyways. No big deal i fabbed up some plates to block all the holes but if i woulda done it right when i ordered the stuff i wouldn't have had to do that.

The new versions of the pacesetters come with copper gaskets. I just picked up spme headers for my lt1 and my buddys ls1, both came with copper gaskets.

Race Style headers you dont need the block off plates. But if you dont have "Race Style" then yes they make blockoff plates for them. To get rid of the AIR and EGR, well...just be careful when taking it out and have fun watching all that stuff dissapear from the engine bay, really cleans stuff up.

why do the o2 extensions that come with the headers break so fast and what causes them not to work?

just went out and looked at the car and understand it would be easy to remove the A.I.R system. Just need some help on the EGR. The tube that leads from the intake manifold to the cylinder looking thing has a plug in the top of that. what do i do with that plug?

definately get a 10mm rachet wrench, and make sure you get new oem gaskets (they sell them at any auto parts store for like $12) i reused my factory gaskets when i first did the install and had to replace them both recently do to leaks. do it right the first time. it helps a lot to drop the starter and remove the steering linkage, neither is difficult to remove. also use antiseize on the bolts when going back in, not threadlocker or locktight, and get them as tight as possible with the ratchet wrench, it's supposed to be 18ft-lbs, it'll be close enough. good luck fitting a torque wrench on some of those bolts.

egr is easy. just a couple of bolts, unplug, and block off. don't take it off until you've got the means to block off the holes. like someone said up top, get the race style headers with air and egr already gone.
