99 stock manifolds to 2000+ manifolds
Okay, so, here I am thinking...........again. I am about to get a 99 for a good deal with a jasper rebuild in her that has 1k miles on the engine. Since, as I know it so far, I can not go long tubes for fear of failing visual emissions, would it be worth it to put on some 2000+ manifolds? What kind of increase would I expect? I have heard they are close to shorties, so, that would be??? Also, you can always scrounge a decent deal on ebay, but, whats the max $$ I should put out for them? Not gonna pay $300 for something that gives me 5hp, lol. Just curious as to the forums insight and opinions, thanks.

do even bother swaping out your '99 manifolds just for some '01-02's.... if your gonna swap anything and and need to stay emissions legal then shorties is your answer
...with shorties and a dead on tune you should expect anywhere from 10-15rwhp over your '99 manifolds

Yea, I hear ya. I was thinking if I could pick up a set for $25, a weekend playing around swapping them for 5 hp, would be cool, but, if the stocks wont net me anything, then, your right.

maybe then gut the cats, maybe weld a stright pipe in there, or, just get flange crazy and have two sets of pipes. One for inspection and one home built Y that has one 3" cat where they used to put them back in the day so I am still running clean. With flanges all around, would be a breeze to swap back and forth when needed.
