True duals are going to give you more midrange tq, because of the scavenging effect of the xpipe. They usually don't give much if any hp over a good ypipe setup because up top those flow pretty good. It's going to be the midrange where you're really see the benefit.

Yes, even with crush bends. You are not going to take a huge hp hit until you are making some serious rwhp, even then the hit will be minimal. Just make sure you have a good volumetric xpipe, an hpipe is not going to scavenge nearly as well, if at all.

The speed of the exhaust gases vary as they are higher rpm. At lower RPM there is a scavenging effect of the xpipe, just like long tubes, that increases the velocity more than stock, because of the pulses of the exhaust coming from the engine. As the speed gets up there to upper RPMs, there is less scavenging effect and consequently the pulses are so bunched together they don't scavenge as much, hence the same hp as with a good flowing ypipe.
Technically you can tune an exhaust to scavenge in a certain way. That's why equal length primaries on headers are so important, because they allow the engine more scavenging. So tuning True Duals to place the xpipe in the best location possible (as close to the headers as possible) will result in more efficient scavenging, at midrange rpms, where the effect of the pulses are greatest.
