Your worry about the intake conforming to your heads? I think the small block chevy used an aluminum or iron intake since the begining of time, and im not so much worried about heat soak, I wanna know about actual performance benefits or downsides to this intake.

Im gunna be putting together a 2000 ls1 in the next couple of weeks, im gunna use the BBK intake, and either the big BBK TB or the Holley one, im gunna port and polish the intake and heads, and prolly run the new T-rex cam, hoping for some big HP..
I will definetly let everyone know what I get..
Its going in a full suspension th400 trans braked big converter Firehawk. Hoping for some good results, mid 10s maybe?

I have a BBK Intake manifold, the BBK Throttle body was a piece of **** so I got a new one, I couldn't finish it though... I broke the Oil Pressure sensor and didn't have time to put it all together before I got deployed, when I get back home I will be getting it tuned and dynoed.

The heatsoak issue is nothing to be concerned with, but you can't argue that plastic will do it LESS.
SBC/SBF metal intakes "from the beginning of time" have freakin' LEAKED since the beginning of time. RTV is only still in business because of people trying to make their manifolds seal right.

The GM LS6 intake is by far a better piece in my opinion. The heat sink is really the downfall of these metal intakes.

The only place I've ever used silicone on an sbc is the water crossovers on the front and rear. Never had a sealing problem.
