True dual setup?
True dual setup? looking at the texas speed setup but i fear its gona be way to loud with a vey healty 408.... i do a little street driving with the car every now and then. the car has a 3in borla cat back with the open plate in it.... i wana keep it about the same noise level
3" TDs are going to be loud no matter how you look at it, it's a personal preference of how much you are willing to put up with...Check out this thread for pipe size for different applications:

It's not that a 2.5" isn't good enough for more than 512 hp per say, it's just that is the stoiciometric efficiency of that pipe size diameter. Based on how much fwhp you think you are going to be running, you can safely run 2.5" true duals out the back, and through a single full size muffler. That will probably be the quietest setup for a large 408, and what I would run even if you are leaving a few hp on the table.
You could also do a combination: 3" headers into 3" xpipe, then transition down into a 2.5" piping after the crossover when the exhaust gases are cooling down.

If you want it to be even remotely quiet, I personally think the Bassani would be the way to go. Otherwise, you'll need to find two, larger mufflers (I'd start with Magnaflow 4x9s) and go from there.
Check out LS1sounds for "Edelbrock 304SS" mufflers, there's a clip from a user on here named BLASTER, really deep tone, doesn't sound too outrageously loud.

I used to have borla cat back w/ kooks lt & y-pipe. H/C swap. didn't like the rasp at just over 2k. plus my lumpy cam 231/237,.589/.595 112 didn't sound good either, too me. so I went TD's dumped and gave me what I was looking for. I would specially pay attention to exhaust setup/sounds at gtg's, car shows. and wouls ask questions about setup and local law enforcement . I even spoke to local cops at car show to get there opinions on TD's decible's. u can also go to LS1sounds under TrueDual's and get an idea of what it will sound like. hope this helps.
