Default True Dual setup: Low drone, ~GMMG sound?

Just curious, does anyone have a True Dual setup on their f-body that resembles the LOW drone and deep sound of a GMMG setup?

I'd love to hear what you all have.

Go for the Classic Chambered Powersticks. I have them on my car (not true duals) and I love them. Check the link in my signature for more info.

Also, heres a video of them in a true dual setup. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....9&postcount=19

These are by far some of the best sounding mufflers I have heard. I switched from a GMMG setup on my car to these, and I love them.

i have duals (LT headers, x-pipe, and dual dynomax bullets.. routed under the driveshaft with no clearance loss), which I have ran in 3 stages of completion:

1- cutoff before rear end.. ran like this for a good 8 months.. very loud at all rpms and all speeds.. lots of drone.. but sounds downright badass!

then I got a ticket and needed to finish them over the axle and out the back, so:

2- when i was taking them over the axle, I ran out of mandrel bends before i got done, so i had the passenger side tip completed, and the driver side pipe went over the axle and was cutoff facing directly at the ground.. I drove like this for about a week waiting for new parts and I have to say the sound was the coolest like this.. it wasn't as loud but with the one pipe facing straight down, it created a really sweet echo'd sound like the chambered setups give you... it had no drone inside the car, and still was loud enough to make people hear me from a while away.

3. finished the the passenger side tip out... the resonence and drone came back again (really wierd), and i lost the cool echoing sound, but still sounds badass.

on my next setup I am going to take them over the axle, but then dump them instead of using tips.. hopefully i can replicate the sound i had in setup #2

I had the Bassani True Dual system with Magnalfow converters, and mine sounds pretty deep:

Fun thread so far, keep them coming!! Tim, that sounds freaking mean!!

The thing that throws me off is the true duals on a cammed 408 will sound different than a 346... Would the sound be pretty similar?

Dang, you may have me sold

The bassani+magnaflow setup sounded good too

A stock 346 won't sound as lopey and it will not be quite as loud as a 408, but the actual tone of the exhaust will be very similar. Obviously, heads/cam will help, and will only make the exhaust sound better. I've heard PowerSticks on stock LS1s, and they still sound awesome.

And you said drone is gone for the most part (with your setup)? I'd definitely hate to get sick of hearing the droning exhaust.. How do you drink drone would be with a True Dual PowerStick version of this? If it would be significantly more I may have to steal your setup!!

What do you think the total would be for doing a true dual setup? If you'd ship, I'd be willing to eventually buy from EAD since you helped me out and suggested that setup . But I'm still checking around, too ..

Meaner sound, better numbers, no drone would be awesome!

Personally I am looking to go back to a Y setup from true duals.

There is pretty much no drone at all with the setup I'm running. I've sold quite a few of these, and not a SINGLE complaint about these mufflers yet. All I heard so far is praise for them.

I can ship the mufflers for a true dual setup, but I can't do the entire system unless you can leave your car with us for a day. For how little clearance there is with these cars, and all the different setups with torque arms etc, I wouldn't do duals unless I could fab them directly on the car, otherwise you will have a poorly hung system with little ground clearance.

We have a couple mufflers left in stock, along with plenty of mandrel bends if you want to take them to a local shop and have them fab it on the car.

Me too.....too damn loud with a converter, and now that I'm getting the SS4000, it'll just get worse. Sucks though, cause they sound so good. I have a possible deal lined up for a Hooker C/B on trade. We'll see. As far as my setup, Sweet Thunder mufflers run out the back. No drone or rasp whatsoever. When dumped, there is significant drone, but not when finished out the back. Very deep and crisp sounding, almost sounds like I got a big cam at idle. Has a LOT of bark to it. It does sound damned good, but like I said, hard to deal with after the stall went in.

I'll have a setup that can hopefully duplicate the sound in a few weeks. 3" x-pipe with classic chambered powerpacks going all the way out back. I'll have vids then too
