PVC Catch can?? Do you recommend them??

If you do not want to have oil in your intake, I would not leave it alone. So why not just fix it? You can do several things. Replace the pcv valve and see that fixes it, install a catch can or seperator, or delete the stock items put one or two breathers on it and cap everything off. One of them can keep oil out of the intake. Oil in the combustion chamber is not a good thing.

The intake port is used as a vacum for evacuating the pcv vapors and reburning it .
So , if your using a breather can or breathers you dont need that port , but if your using a simple catch can you will use the vacum port on the intake .
Catch cans and breather cans are used on stock motors as well when the
motor is seeing a lot of high rpms and timing .
They are not just for built race motors .
A motor with 75k miles that sees a lot of high rpms and timing will be better off with a catch/breather can .
So , if your using a breather can or breathers you dont need that port , but if your using a simple catch can you will use the vacum port on the intake .

I tried some of the things you guys have tried and........well only one really mine has the ls-6 valley the ls-1 stock pcv has been changed also to the ls-6.........so I tried just the breather on the left valve cover and left everything else alone.Well I guess you have to plug every hole because mine would'nt idle.Took the breather off and put my oil cap back on and idle was fine.

If you run a breather and delete the PCV system you should run a vacume pump....

Anybody tried the Summit breather catch can? Part number SUM-G1504? Looks alright. Just run a line from the PCV valve to this can and cap the intake port and call it a day. Price is $27 and it holds a quart. Might be better for the cars that are getting too much oil and filling up the Husky's. Dunno, my car's not together yet, but would like to come to a conclusion on this never ending PCV crisis before it goes in.

I'm sure I've got room for it. (deleted A/C, heat, P/S, solid mounts, relocated battery, ABS block, huge coolant tank.) But you're right, might look goofy if it's great big. Just thought it would be alittle easier than some of the others. Is there a power difference between any of them, (vacuum or atmospheric) maybe one allows the rings to seal better? Might be worth looking into. Thanks.
