Fabricated Valve Covers
I am new here and want to say that this is a great site. Many knowledgeable people are on here with good thoughts and input.
We are exploring the possibility of producing a high-end fabricated valve cover for the LS engines and wanted to get input from members of this site. We build covers for many racing divisions including NASCAR's NC, BGN, CTS series along with a few NHRA PS, TAFC, and super class engines. We also originated the valve spring oiling system back in the early 1990's.
I've been told that overall height, valve train clearance, etc. is critical and that the coil-pack location is also crucial.
We utilize a .500" thick billet rail and machine it for gasket retention. The covers will also be TIG-welded inside & out.
Please offer your ideas and thoughts on how we can produce the most effective valve cover for these engines. We're starting from a "clean sheet of paper" on this project and desire to manufacture the best cover possible.
Thanks.
ML

How about finally making a valve cover with "PONTIAC" (or something along that line) stamped on it? Us Firebird drivers would look goofy strutting an LS1 with Chevrolet valve covers. I'm tired of the Chevy's always getting the cool stuff.

PCV system
The option to delete coil stanchions.
Tall to clear aftermarket valvetrains
Visually appealing center hold down bolts with some type of viton seal (similar to stock)to prevent oil seepage. Limiters to prevent over tightening and bending at the center.
Valve spring oilers
- An option for stock LS6 PCV hose barb fittings.
- An option for AN style PCV connections using 7/8-14 female SAE J514 straight thread o-ring boss adapters welded in place of the hose barb fittings. NO NPT!
- Internal baffles for the PCV connections.

I think we need something that isnt $400+ for a set! I know you pay for quality but damn. Ill bet in the long run if you guys had something reasonably priced it would pay off because people would be willing to pay a reasonable price for a decent set of valve covers. As for now its either the stock centerbolt covers or splurge and get a set of expensive covers. I have always wanted a nice set of fabricated brushed aluminum covers!

We just got a set. We wanted satin finish but all they had was polished. Were going to powder coat them anyways. They will be going on a 408ci iroc as soon as we weld some fittings on it. These you just unbolt ya coil mount and bolt it to the valve covers

Several issues if you plan on running these:
1. Stock length plug wires DO NOT WORK with these valve covers.
2. One of the hoses for the air condition will not let you put on the coil packs on passenger side.
3. Stock oil dipstick and tube has to be bent away from the head to make it work on the passenger side.
