25 rwhp is a bit on the high side IMO. I would say anything over 20 rwhp is a bonus but id guess around 20 rwhp, or at least thats what ive seen.

same setup i have and it is pretty quiet on the street through the stock exhaust even WOT...the catback is the major choking part of our exhaust...i did back to back runs with 100% stock exhaust at the track with an electric coutout in you I-pipe and gained exactly 20rwhp from the cutout from closed to open went 110mph then with it open went 112...mph...i say have the best of both worlds lt, ory, stock catback with a cutout...sounds insane with it open...or very quiet with it closed

why not
i dunno if it might be a pain or not, i know my car likes to buck with my stock gears so i know you would need some 4.10's and prolly a big stall. also yours is a dd and it might become a pain to you. if the exhaust is becomin a pain im pretty sure the behavior of the cam will. research auto's with t-rex's a lil more. you better start makin some money quick cuz as soon as i buy the new heads mine are comin off and imma sell em with the springs and all......so get some hours in quick.

well basically my question was that most of the other people i've seen posting 20+ rwhp gains from just lt's were when they had the regular stock dual exhaust to begin with. since i have the less restrictive slp d/d i was wondering if i would still see 20+ hp gains or only like 10 hp because my exhaust was better to begin with. you're saying i SHOULD still experience the same gains as someone upgrading just a stock exhaust (meaing my overall rwhp will still be higher than theirs because of the slp d/d)? also, i have no intention of going to heads/cam in the future. after exhaust and a few other more minor mods (ram air, etc) i plan on stopping with this car and starting to save up for the 09 camaro so i could justify spending $500 now for around 20 more hp, but not if it were only 10.

decided that im doing MS4 and the 3.42 rearend with a 3500 stall. Nick said thats the lowest he would go... he actuall said 3.73's would be the lowest he would go but ill have to just get the 3.42's since I can get those easier as opposed to buying a built rear with 3.73's.

LT's with the slp dual/dual should net you 20+ rwhp with a tune. Could be over 25 rwhp but usually those numbers are again with a good dyno tune but like most people if your going to wait on the tune for a cam install or other internal mods then you will probably see about 20 rwhp. Longtubes are def worth the investment though because they set you up for all your future mods (except if your going turbo)
