Default K&N FIPK on an SS...?

I got a K&N FIPK for a real good price and I have an SLP smooth lid on my Camaro right now. I have an SS hood, so would it be a bad idea to put the FIPK on w/ the SS hood?

Its not a bad idea. It wont lose any power but it probably wont gain any either. The FIPK does look better though.

I'd keep the lid, mainly because you don't have to deal with cleaning the K&N filter.

id keep the lid with that hood...the only reason i went with the FIPK is because it works very well with the cowl hood

our cars dont suck air in through the back of the hood as is rumored. theres a lot of info on this on FRRAX

maybe its different for cowl hoods...but i doubt it

I can see **** get sucked under the cowl when im goin over 20ish. Leaves, pineneedles, papers, you name it iv seen it. Just sucks because you gotta clean it often. When im at idle, I can see it breathing on the windsheild if its cold out.
