Default Guys with dumped Y-pipes HELP.........

I want to get rid of my catback and run an open Y-pipe. I have a bullet in the y-pipe right in front of an open cutout. I never close it so I figure I would be saving some weight if I just dump it. The problem is I need some more pictures of where and how hangers are welded so I can show my exhaust guy. I have a few pics that show some ideas, but I need some in depth pics and explanations please. Any help is appreciated!!!

Why don't you just run a bullet off each side?

Or sell your catback, cutout, and y pipe, and buy one of the TSP true dual sytems for $400... It'll sound better, perform a little better, and it seems like you don't care about the noise.

Default borla xr 1

How does that sound. I was thinking of doing the same thing. With a borla xr 1 off the y pipe. And getting rid of my cat back and cut out.

The bumpstop to my understanding (because i have one) mounts on the driver side maybe a foot past the header. I think thats where it was made to go, but hell yeah, i dont see why you couldnt use that dude at the very end of the Y. Its a quality piece i must say. BTW, i still use it even after poly mounts. Damn engine still moves too much!

Thats exactly what I wanted to do. I was under the impression that I would need a hanger to support the weight...do I?

not really, if you use the ol block of wood and a negotiating hammer or axe then the y will be firmly seated on the headers, and if you're like me then the end of your y angles a hair up more than level, you should be fine. It shouldnt move much, especially if its an ORY. Even my catted TSP pipe seems fine. As long as the muffler isnt an XR1 that weighs 15 pounds itd be ok. Id still look into a hanger on the very end if you're worried. Check at advance auto, there are several hanger set ups that you could make with just a drill in the floor that would work.

Run a hanger....You will kick yourself for not doing it. Plus it is so easy to put on right there. You do have an entire tunnel to mount it.
