you have several options:

1. buy a new ORY and gut the cats and stick them over the pipe.
2. catted y-pipe
3. go to a shady inspection place and give bubba a 6-pack
4. weld heat shields in place
5. open headers and TWO 6-packs

Everything in this thread has been wrong if you live in the counties of PA that require an emissions sticker! Your stock Y will NOT WORK with LT's - You need to get an ORY or a catted Y and not look back! Yes, the Federal Clean Air Act says that we all have to have cats in "the stock location" Blah, Blah, Blah; but there is a loophole in the PA laws that will easily let you run without cats; Per PA law, if you have a 1996 or newer car, then all that you have to pass for emisssions is an OBD test and a gas cap check. As long as you are not throwing codes, then you will pass the emissions test easily! De-tune the codes or get sims and smile for Ed-Rendel! As for the safety inspection, all you need to do is have an exhaust system in good condition that exits out the back and has a muffler, and you will be fine. Visual inspections of emissions equipment in Allegheny and Westmoreland Co (and all of the rest of the emissions-counties in PA). are only for pre-1996 vehicles.

00slowredZ, ill prob have my motor in wiht teh new QTPs, then i hope to get a Y pipe made by Jeff at 1st try. then u can have my y pipe, besides, cats are located way to high on a stock y pipe, you could do it, but would have way to much time, and prob. the same amount of money as buyin a used y pipe
