ASP Pulley ?

getting ready to go with the ASP crank pulley would it be a good decision to go with one of there alternator pulleys? the car it will be put on is a driver/weekend warrior car. i know there are underdrive and overdrive alternator pulleys should i worry about these for street use or not? what do yall think?

I got the overdrive alternator pulley with mine, and I am glad I did, because even with that installed, voltage is pretty low at idle. When I get it tuned after my cam install I will likely have them set the idle just a little higher, so my headlights aren't dim and blinkers blinking super slow at stop lights.

FredoCamaro did you get overdrive or underdrive?

I have an underdrive pulley on my car. I had no issues until I sat idling at the strip while they cleaned up the mess from a car that dumped its engine on the track. The battery discharged and I ended up needing a jump. I then installed my alternator overdrive pulley and have not had a problem since. I heartily recommend.

i have the asp ud pulley with an overdriven alt. pulley also. no problems but if you have a system it definitely won't keep up.

This really depends on if you have a M6 or A4 car. The manuals dont normally need the overdriven alt pulley.

I have had the SLP pulley on my car for almost 6 months now with no issues.

this is bull i am running a mcintosh amp 200 watts total to my mids and a 500 watt to my sub and the charging is just like stock...only when i turn it up the the max output and i am at idle for a long period of time do i ever see the battery charge drop...at stoplights with medium to loud volume no dimming at all even from head light and i just have the 25% underdrive crank...stock alternator pulley...for whats it worth i think you will be fine with a stock pulley...also i am an auto and they even have a lower idle rpm than a m6
