Default What are the best long tubes?

What long tubes give the most power and which y. I currently am running pacesetters with tsp catted y. Is there better set ups????

all long tubes are with in a couple hp...people will says kooks,qtp..etc ecxpensive are the best. its personal choice on that. and most will say for a y any ory (off road y)will work over your catted y. just a prediction. i bet there will even be some that say *** the y td's ftw

I got the American Racing long tubes. Stainless, and price is comparable to QTP or Kooks, but the Y-pipe sold me on them. No fitment issues, and the cats are smaller in diameter than most, good for ground clearance.

This subject has been discussed to death. Do a search and read up on some of the answers. I believe there was even a poll on this recently. Most will go QTP or Kooks and for a good reason. They're worth it.

Is QTP the only one with a High Velocity Merge Collector (HVMC). If so that would lead me to believe they would dyno slightly higher....though I don't know if that would show up as more tq in the midrange or more hp at the top. Has anyone dynoed HVMC before and after?

I've had the standard QTPs and their HVMCs and gained 10+ RWHP and 10+ RWTQ with the HVMCs and a tune.

I think Edelbrock and QTP are the only ones out there, for F-Bodies, that have a true HVMC. Kooks, and now Hooker are a couple that have their versions of turbulence spikes in the collectors.

All I know is I gained more power on a day that was 30*s hotter than the day I had the car tuned for the standard QTPs, so there may have been some more power lurking...

QTPs FTW!!!

there is really not much difference between any of them, only a couple hp. so as long as its a long tube header youre good. shorties or mids will lose some power tho
