Default header question

Hey guys, I bought some pacesetter lt's from byunspeed a while back, for my 01 and the holes on the flanges are circular, they told me that these were the right headers for the 01 but the gaskets i have dont match and they are kind of D shaped. Just wondering if im missing something here.

If you are talking about the ones that came with the pacesetter....they suck ***. I would get the stock MLS gaskets for those headers. They seem to work the best.

Circular most likely on the stock gaskets.

D-shaped...? Huh..could they possibly LT1 gaskets? I cant remember if my lt1 heads were d-shaped, I think they were.

Get new stock gaskets from your friendly local GM dealership!

And what shape is the actual header?

Sounds like you got LT1 headers. Are the two center header pipes close together, or are all the header pipes evenly spaced apart on each manifold?? LS1's have the evenly spaced exhaust ports, while LT1's (old style small block) have the two center exhaust ports right next to each other.

See what you can figure out from that.

when i first got the headers i went to the dealership and got a gasket and it was kind of D shaped i guess they gave me the wrong one. So there is no difference in the shapes of the ports for the 98-02 and the 01+ even though they use the 241 heads

Can you post some pics of the gaskets and headers. We can tell you right away if they are wrong.

they arent with me right now, im in ft hood texas and they are back home. Buynspeed was telling me they are correct so im thinking that the gasket the dealership gave me was wrong. Just trying to make sure they are right before I get them shipped down here
