Vette that sounded like an F1 car

Vette that sounded like an F1 car So im outside putting in a battery in a customers car at Advance Auto when i hear this exotic bike rev at the stop light then take off. Keep in mind that im being shielded by a hood of some car now so i cant see. I said exotic bike because in Salem VA thats about the only exotic sound that would be normal. Well, half a second later i said to my self "wait that sounds like a high pitch small cube V12" When i looked up I saw a C5 Z06 blast by. WTF! There was no deep tone at all, but more of a Formula 1 Lister Storm or BMW V12 sound.
What the hell kind of exhaust does that? I know vettes are a different animal all together than F bodys, but dang. It sounded like a lot of stock broker money blasting by, instead of a midlife crisis.

He may have had some special and very expensive headers on the car. I think there is another thread I was reading on here where someone described why the C6.R makes such an ugly blatting sound, and it is due to the firing order, and the exhaust pulses cancelling each other out. However, with the right header design, the exhaust pulses arent cancelled, and you hear the true sound of the motor, much more like an exotic car.

That might be it. I guess for that matter any vette that had headers might have that sound. It could have been just the way that particular street and all the other crap on it like dump trucks distorts sound. But it sounded high pitch. But i think that the clip above is pretty close to how it sounded. Video cameras never do justice!

If I was guessing I'd say it was a corsa system with long tubes. Mine definitely has a higher pitch sound than borla, ghl, etc.

A friend of mine with an 02 zo6 with a cartek stg. 3 h/c setup, stock bottom...with kooks 1 7/8 to 1 3/4 stepped headers into a 3" in/2.5" out kooks offroad xpipe into a 2 tip borla stinger catback and his sounds just like an F1 car when its over 3K rpms. Its unreal. The 'stinger' catback and xpipe together already changes pitch up top pretty noticeably, but his being all stainless pipes is probably making it sound more higher pitch than average. I would bet this is what you heard...and if not you should, its a religious experience 
Theres another local guy that gets on here some with a procharged frc vette putting down over 700 rhwp with that same xpipe and borla stinger setup, his does the same thing. Seems like the more power and exhaust velocity you push through that catback the louder and higher pitched it wants to sing

I'm gonna be it was the Corsa Titanium System... they dont sell it anymore or show it on their site but it had an odd, high-pitched sound at WOT. ~$1800 without mufflers ~$2200 with...

Thats the exact one im thinking of, I didnt know they werwent making it anymore? Sucks as I will be looking for a vette this upcoming summer and wanted that exact exhaust.
