dual exhaust Question
dual exhaust Question I am thinking about putting a dual exhaust system on instead of a catted y pipe. What kind of money are we looking at? What is recommended? I need to be emissions legal to an extent

(ie need cats!) I have FLP long tubes Emissions "legal" isnt gonna happen with anything other than a catback and stock manifolds. You are moving the cats from their original locations, but I see what you are saying about "to an extent" 
. I have FLP's with a Lanes 2.5" true dual setup all the way out the back. You are looking at anywhere from 400-1200$ depending on what type of material, style, brand...ect. Also the cheaper setups dump prior to the rear axle instead of going either over or under. I suggest going all the way out the back if you want to appear totally legal. Dumps are just a dead giveaway that you are running non-legal.

bassani true duals are a good choice if you are looking to go out the back...look at the vinci's website...it won't be super loud, but the tone is really refined and sounds very good...

yeah - i am thinking that even if there is a kind difference in hp between true duals and the flp setup, i could just stick in the straight pipes it came with, and install some cutouts for probably near the same hp
+1 for the Bassani Kit. If you were to have custom duals run out the back it would cost you at least as much if not more. The Bassani kit is well refined, sounds great, and is stainless steel, a heck of a deal and a heck of a system.
You will gain tq with true duals. They scavenge more than ypipes, so you will have a thicker midrange than a ypipe setup, and depending how restrictive your ypipe setup is, you'll gain some hp.
You can run cats and headers with the Bassani. Just a small adjustment needs to be made, which any exhaust shop can do for you.
