I thought about painting headers and saving some money. I think the problem with this, is that there is certain prep and post work you have to do, when you paint. You have to clean it of all the oil, and after you paint them you need to bake them. I think this helps the paint last a lot longer, than if you just go and paint them. However, some people say painting works good, but most say that theirs chip and rust. Im not sure how many actually prep and bake their headers when painting. I said screw it and just paid the extra money for the coated.
