Default Uncoated v/s Ceramic Coated

I am thinking of getting the Pacesetter Longtubes. Should I get coated or uncoated? If uncoated I will get hi temp paint. Which Y pipe should I get? EGR or no EGR? I have a 2000 T/A.

If you want to get rid of your EGR then get no egr headers. I would get coated.

Get coated with no egr they last longer and reduce temp under the hood.

coated headers will outlast non-coated headers, and for the little money it costs is well worth it. Painted headers will always peel and rust eventually.

Get Coated.

As for the Y pipe; I went with a TSP ORY. Went on with no problems or headaches.(plus I like the smell of unburnt fuel )But only get an ORY if you know your state isn't emissions crazy.

ok, what about coated peacesetters's, jet hot coated peacesetter's, or jet hot long tubes? both jet hot coated headers and jet hot coated peacesetter's are the same price at the WS6 store.

what about wrapping uncoated headers? would that be worth the trouble, or just buy coated ones?

coated in the sence that its easier. But I went with uncoated because it saves me 70 dollars and you can coat it urself for like 10 bucks.

My brother and I have the exact same Pacesetter LTs except his are painted black and mine are coated. The temp in his engine bay is noticable higher than mine.

coated +1

Eventually all coated headers will start to peel and rust anyway :S . I've had my Coated PaceSetters for a little over three years now and the collectors have sume rust and the coating is starting to peel. At the primaries where they bolt on to the head is a different story.... that part looks new. I think it might just be due to the collectors being exposed to moisture, dirt, etc. Now Edelbrock's TiTech coating is supposed to be much more resilient that ceramic coating, but it doesn't have that "bling factor". It is more of a dull gray color.

JetHot has some of the best coating, according to some people. Although I have no idea how good it is when compared to Pacesetter Armor coating.
