I say Kooks.Installing my Kooks was not the best as others I have done but they fit and tuck well.As far as a power difference between LT's there is not going to be that big of a RWHP GAIN between the company's just stay the hell away from FLOWTECH **** quality and it shows.

I voted Kooks myself...actually just ordered a set a couple days ago...went with the SS race headers and SS ORY.

Hope to see what they'll do in another week or so. Switching from Mac mids that I will say made good power with the setup I have.

I too was torn on price, however I've read way too many good things about fitment, quality, peformance, etc to really allow the price to sway me any other way.

I think this boils down to personal preference really. If you're on a budget and are comfortable forgoing some of the nicer aspects of high $$ headers, then go for it. However, if you have the means to pick up a set of Kooks...go for that.

Bottom line (as I've told people before) is that it's your car...do what you want and what makes you happy.

Good luck!

ive heard the TSP y pipe will work just fine.. pacesetter Y that i had hit the floor.

if you are even second guessing the price of kooks, just get pacesetters because you obviously dont have the cash to buy the kooks haha

The Kooks are the best as far as quality but there is nothing wrong with the Pacestters. I have them on my car and they work well. Fitment is not an issue. Just make sure to get the coated ones. Use the extra $$$ for other mods.

I voted for the Pacesetter's, but that's because I have them on my car and they work just fine. I would go with them just so I could put the rest of the money somewhere else.

you could always use header wrap and wrap the bitches to help the longevity... I'm going with Pacesetters for the simple fact its not a daily driver and wont see much weather anyways... I'm going with the TSP TD's as well.

I am not trying to hijack this thread or anything but you guys were discussing that the pacesetter ory bangs the floor? Is it unbalanced? Or are the bends in it not correct. I have Pacesetters and a custom orx pipe with dumps before the rear axle and mine bang too. I also think its cause of a broken motor mount because they dont bang in neutral, just in drive when a load is on the engine and when I sit still its more prevelant probably because the engine is under a greater torque load at idle stop in drive. Hopefully one of you guys can shed some light on this question

My pacesetters hit on the k-member, I don't see that as being a perfect fit, unless my car is built different than every other F-body out there. We even notched the k-member about 1/2 an inch on the drivers side and it still hit every once in a while until it dented my header. Now it clears. I haven't heard of a Kooks fitment issue. Most threads I have seen say you get what you pay for.

as the voice of the third-person.....

I'd rather have Kooks. but I think Pacesetters and Kooks are different leagues of headers.

I put Kooks with American Racing, Dynamaxx, QTP

even Hooker, Edelbrock, etc all make some quality looking mid-class headers that look > pacesetters for very little margin of price.

Pacesetters just seem like the cheapest, best fit, highest performing header for the price.

but Pacesetters + a guaranteed fit Catted Y is a good deal for 700 at TSP. so i voted that route in this thread.

IMO you get what you pay for, and if IMO if you need a header that is gonna last a long time (3+ years), i'd wait and get the SS headers.

I did read in the sticky that some older pacesetter headers had clearance issues, I bought mine used, so if the new ones are made to fit better then I will retract my non fitting statement above. That is the only issue I have had with them. The sticky also explains the different brands and qualities etc... I would recommend checking it out if you havent already.

consider QTPs yet, I haven't bought them but they look really sweet with those different style collectors......my 2 cents

I have thought about pacesetters also and I'm torn about it too. It's between the QTPS and pacesetters for me though. Good luck!

I considered the same options. I just ordered Pacesetters, and I'm going to go with a custom y. In the end, after seeing the Pacesetters on my friend's GTO, I decided they had good enough build quality and coating is enough for me in Fl. I can save the money for a tune.

Kooks headers and cats with Jet-Hot Sterling coating! Fit and finish is outstanding. Well worth the $$$.
