How can you regret Jethots for $500 plus a y when you make 446rwhp? I had 0 problems with my Jethots and a used Hooker Y pipe modded at the exhaust shop. I don't like the idea of the Jethot sectioned y pipe though. I'm trying to decide between pacesetter, Jethot, Edelbrock. Kooks might be stainless, but my Jethots looked great 1.5 years later.

Kooks are great but not worth the extra cash, especially for a college guy on a budget. Go ahead and spend that cash on the other mods (or some top ramen).

simple after a yr they looked like garbage, i have the Hooker ORY on them. yes they make the power and everything but idk how much longer till they start rusting all the way through and leak. im in new england and the salt im sure helped that along. just when you buy coated headers youd think they would last and take a beating, if i went kooks stainless i wouldnt have had this issue at all. thats why i say kooks and he is in MI so im sure theres salt there. i repainted the headers lil over a year ago when i swaped the heads and thats when i say how bad they really were, i was disgusted .

Gotcha. We don't deal with much snow at all here and mine looked great. Looks like above the Mason-Dixon line you need stainless.

Does anyone know if the Ypipe for the Pacesetters will fit the Jet Hot LT's?
Anyone try this?

I'm pretty sure the hooker y just needed about a 4-6 inch extension welded on one side. See my thread about my jethots from back in 04.

I dont know if you have a lift or not, but the Kooks too me seriously 5 minutes to removed and 5 minutes to re-install (besides pulling the plugs and stuff.)

i dont think you would regret the pacestters. i have had them for almost 2 years and my car was a daily driver for 1 of the years, and i lived in southern colorado in the winter. they look as good as the day i put them in up top. on the bottom they are browning, but that will be expected with any header i think. min fit perfect. seriously took like 10 minutes a piece after the plugs were removed. also, mine are the coated headers.

Did you put them in from the top?

maryland speed is a sponsor and they sell the pace lt's that are jethot coated inside and out w/a lifetime warranty, that's enough longevity to me.

I love my pace setter headers, but my TSP y pipe got smashed to **** so I'm going to recommend option 2, but if you don't already have a cat back, I'd go with a true dual system instead of a y and a cat back.

I said screw it and bought a set of QTP's. You can't beat $665 for stainless headers with a high velocity merge collector. Not to mention they've been around for a while and have proven performance. See the Sponsor sale section, sale ends Saturday.

I'm thinking about running coated pace setters for now, b/c I'll need to move to a stepped header in a few years anyways.

I would get the armor coated pacesetters over kooks, although if you dont mind spending the extra cash get kooks. But you may want to consider QTP? Their headers are made from 304 stainless just like kooks, but cost a little less at somewere around $730.

i didnt kno the kooks was so much better. i kno that with the kooks 4 the tunnel brace setup 4 a new torsion bar u dont need the longtube setup which has a bend in it 4 room, and is asking 4 cement. i was actually lookin at pacesetters but if the kooks r better and i dont need that LT tunnel brace i mite go that way
