I got the tick after my header install. We know LS1's have a loud valvetrain but the thin walls on the stainless headers make the VT noise louder.

Could be a loose plug.

I think it is just the noise you get after a cam install.

Mine is pretty loud now...its gonna be really loud after the cam installl...great cant wait!

When you have an aluminum block engine with longtube headers you're gonna be hearing stuff that every car does (especially with aftermarket cams and a lighter aftermarket valvetrain). It's just the name of the game. Cast iron motors you won't hear as much especially through different exhaust manifolds (ceramic coated SLIGHTLY muffle ticks more than straight stainless steel).

On the other hand, improper lifter preload (incorrect pushrod length) will cause a tick. Or even a collapsed lifter would cause that, but I would think it would be louder. Not positive on that one.
