I had the same banging issue with my o2 ss w/ QTP headers and QTP catted y pipe. I bought that mufflex bumpstop and it did nothing for my problem. So i tryied a few other things. found that when i took some old valve springs from when i did my cam and valvetrain swap, took a lot of time figuring out where it was hitting my floorboard then just tack welded the valve spring on the top of my merge collector wedged the spring in between the floor board and exhaust, so far problem solved for now . Hopefully it will continue to work. best of all it didnt cost me anything. hope this helps.

The polyurethane really isn't that bad. If you're really picky, you'll notice some noise. With winows open or stereo loud (or aftermarket exhaust for that matter), you probably won't notice a thing. I say go for it.
