i broke one on my dads car when i installed a ls6 intake, he drove on for a few miles and the oil burst through the diaphram and leaked everywhare!! i switch out the sensors with the intake on before and it's not to bad, the hardest part is finding thr connecter to sanp it back in

I was very careful after reading up on the manifold swap but couldn't get the brake booster hose off the manifold. I wiggled the manifold out to get to the back and the hose stretched the wires to the op sending unit. They didn't break in half but the wire inside the insulation was broken. I managed to splice the wires and it worked again. If your sending unit doesn't look broken see if the wires are stretched or broken.
