i've finally figured out my full exhaust but wanted some opinions on either edelbrock or pacesetter lt's. i kind of want the edelbrocks but they end up 3.5 inches and my dual pipes are 3 inches

 

Edelbrock LT's COATED ...very nice headers....BTW..your 3" pipe will fit into the 3-1/2" headers ...use some band clamps and some tin foil around where the pipes meet.....

I'm on the same fence. I would like to see some numbers though. I Edelbrocks came out after I installed Jethots on my last LS1 about 3 years ago. It picked up 30rwhp

 

Edelbrock indeed. No doubt. I have them.

 

I'll throw another one in for Edelbrock. Doing the install right now. They look solid. I know it doesn't apply to you, but their Y pipe is the best I have seen for the money.

Only downside, I ordered mine Feb 5th and they arrived 5 weeks later. Edelbrock isn't making a whole bunch of them, so the wait just depends on when you order.

 

They are both really good headers, the Pacesetters are made well and the price is right. I have them and they're great so far. The Edelbrocks look awesome and are becoming very popular also. You will need to use reducers to mate them to your pipes. Depending on what your long term goals are, you will see pretty much the same performance out of either set.

 

Theres no question in quality or comparison for the E-brocks. Thats what I push more then anything for that price category.

 

Negative on power boss. You will make more in any given situation in the curve with the E-brock stepped header and race style collectors they offer.

 

I don't disagree with you, but how much more? I understand that the power gain will be greater as supporting mods increase, thats why I added that it depends on what his long term goals are.

 

Even in the beginning you will net on average 10rwhp increase in midrange power.

When I was cam only I swapped from Hooker headers, 3" duals with X pipe and twister mufflers to E-brocks, 3.5" duals with Twister mufflers and netted 40rwhp all over the curve.

 

Those are some nice gains.

 

I just installed a set of Pacesetters that are jethot coated INSIDE and OUT!!,through maryland speed, who are a sponsor for a good price!!! and they carry a life time warranty!! I had no problems w/the install they slipped right up, no cutting of the k-member, heat shields, or the BLOCK TABS!!, the car sounds awesome and I can really feel it on the highway in the upper range. Next up, a good tune from speedinc, YOU Hear that Speedinc!!!!, "i'm coming".

 

If you know how to install any set of headers youd know you dont have to cut tabs off the block on ANY LS1 header install anyway. I've installed at least 5 of every set over made on these cars. Never once cut the ear off the block to get them in.

 

unless you buy those stainless ebay headers.. people cut the tabs off for those.

 

but the point was if you KNOW what you are doing you dont have to

 

um.. from what everyone has said and done.. you must cut it off because of the design of the primary tube... i guess it hits it.. at least from what i remember reading..

I agree V6. Alot of these guys on the forum are doing just that!! Then tell the rest of the guys, who are installing 800 and 900 dollar headers, not to be cutting the block cause they are a bunch of dummies and don't know how to install headers.

 

don't get the slip on collectors if you get the Edelbrock stepped race headers. I have blown my collectors off the headers three times, now they are fully welded.
