I attempted to set it inside the box as you pictured, but its a no go, I cant even get one side in there like that let alone 2, and its as car back as the rear tabs will possible allow (unless there is a problem with the filter and tray the filter sits in.

When I got the SLP flowpack, I feel like I got ripped. The K&N style filter was a joke, didn't fit right or anything. I went to napa, got a napa gold and it fits perfect.

I played with it for another hour, it fits the same without the filter and filter tray inside so I ruled that out as a possible problem. I noticed the left clamp when unsnapped leans way to the left (ie more than the right one leans to the right)

I took the hinges off and pulled apary the whole assembly radiator cover included which holds the filter and tray) and it appears that where the left clamp clips into the lower plastic piece is very sloppy while the right one has nice tight vertical groves for the pin to sit in. Im wondering if its too loose and the pin is slipping out and releasing the rest of the clamp

I took pictures but I dont have time to post at the moment, after my game I will

Did you try flipping around the filter tray to see if it's pushing too far forward? Or even remove it completey for a test fit. I'm not sure what brand my lid is but it seems to fit well.

hmm, that sounds like my problem.

I have to REALLY push my lid in to the slots and try and snap a clip on. Even then, the clamp usually pops off and the lid slides forward.

done this already, and I loosened the tray under the filter to see if that helped at all.

I have the exact same lid and filter combo you do. I was supposed to get the holly power shot filter but ThunderRacing was out of them and they were on a long backorder so they just sent me the K&N one instead

I have the same lid and have had the same problem. I have tried every suggestion listed to try and fix it. after months of messing with tha lid i got it where one side would stay down the other wouldnt so i duct taped the clamp that wouldnt stay down lol. After a while i got sick of looking at the tape on the lid so i tried everything !!!! i could think of to get it to work. Best i was able to get it was staying clamped for a week or so at a time however if i gave it a lot of gas it would pop back off. My final solution that took care of it , ! ... FIPK
