Another Lid Problem
Ok after getting everything prepped last night (cutting off the old airbox) the lid went in today. Now the two front clips (metal hinges) wont stay closed. It takes quite a bit to get them closed and after about 2 seconds they pop back open.. cause is too much pressure at the front lip of the new whisper lid... has anyone had this problem?

Bummer. I was hopin it was going to be something simple like that. I know that my TSP lid was a bitch to get clamped down. It still does not clamp down like it should I have really push on the clips. Other then using force I have no idea...where you buy it from? maybe just call them up and let them know?

Try putting your lid on without an airfilter. If it goes on with out a problem the filter is position wrong. If it doesnt fit with out the filter, you may just have a warped lid.

I had the same prob. last week w/ my lid all i had to do is push the center part back a lil further so that the center part of the lid sat inside of the lower part of the box . Everything fit good and tight all edges were lined up and clips were alot easier to snap shut and stayed shut

yea I do have the lip of the lid inside the box (where it is grooved to fit) but its still not snapping. I had to call it a night since it was dark but I will be back out there after work tomorrow.
going to take the filter out and see if it makes any difference.

I took pics
http://picasaweb.google.com/White.Dylan/WhisperLid
I just linked them instead since I took a few of them
the first one is the cut in the airbox to get the MAF out since it didnt want to come out. The rest are of the lid from different angles including the front tab, the rear clips, the maf, and bellows, ect.
EDIT: the picture with my hand in the way is actually a video and takes a while to load. Its me closing the clamp 3 times and as soon as I move my hand it springs open

This picture shows your problem. The lid has to sit down inside the base and the corners are sitting on top. You have to push the side back in so they seat inside the base and it will clamp down fine.

Here's my lid sitting down inside the base.
