I have a borla, and i heard a GMMG with stock manafolds and cats that was a bit louder than mine, and borla is pretty loud since it realy doesnt go through a muffler, but the GMMG sounded great!

Well I actually purchased a LM from someone who posted in this thread, and definitely plan on LTs and maybe an ORY. I don't care if its raspy or not.. my goal is to scare people and that I shall achieve! Although i havent heard a GMMG in person I bet its a very nice sounding exhaust, and either option would be a good choice depending on your wallet.

Quick question, not to go off topic but if someone could answer. With the LM, Catted Y or ORY? Which will have a somewhat better sound haha

I vote LM! I have a LM with long tubes and ofyp and love the sound! I understand why its to raspy for some though.

I always loved the way my LT's, ORY, and Loudmouth sounded. All out american muscle sound. But the GMMG does sound very nice though. Summit I liked your vids. Especially the flyby

LM doesn't even come CLOSE in tone. GMMG is nowhere near "noise and rasp". where do you get this stuff from cuz it's just plain wrong.
i know this because i've heard them.

i never said they were equally as raspy. i just said they are both very raspy. while of course the loudmouth is going to be even raspier than the GMMG, the mufflers that make up the GMMG aren't a whole lot better at controlling this than the loudmouth. if your friend's car with the loudmouth is a whole shitload raspier than the GMMG, his problem may be his y-pipe. a lot of rasp in these cars come from a poor merge in the y-pipe from aftermarket y-pipe setups. yes, the loudmouth will be significantly rasper than the GMMG without cats, but it's not going to be a million times raspier.

i'll say it again: if you want to run no cats, true duals are your best option. you'll get a much better quality sound than a y-pipe setup can emulate, plus with true duals, you can have little to no rasp at all without cats. i admit i have a huge personal bias. i don't like catbacks on these cars. i don't like y-pipe setups on these cars. i think GM made a huge mistake not designing these cars for true duals. i think it would have been worth the extra cost tacked onto the MSRP. if i ever get longtubes, you can bet i'll be putting on true duals, regardless of the fact that the corsa system i have on my car now brand new is ~$850.

what about just putting one single "stock" cat in the I pipe......can it be done? i bet it will take some of the rasp out of either two.

you would lose a boatload of horsepower. the reason why the LS1 comes stock with 2 cats is because each cat only has to support 4 cylinders. there is no cat out there on the market that can flow the entire LS1 through the I-pipe. you'd lose gobs of horsepower. GOBS i tell you!

I would say loud mouth if you want loud, Magnaflow muffler if you want FLOW and good sound.

Or just get a 4" Mufflex with a Spintech dual 3" out like me and it will sound like an old school big block once you get a cam !
got any sound clips?

IMO all straight thru style mufflers with an ORY is going to yield some rasp, plain and simple. I have heard both GMMG and LM1 with ORYs and both have rasp. Get the LM save the money for other mods like a pulley or sumthing.

the camera isn't very good so you can't tell how loud it really is

i like the lm II but found 2 chambered mufflers just like the gmmg for 40 bucks so i figured wth i'll make my own gmmg like i planned and if i don't like it i'll just sell it
