I thought the same thing, but since I also had the Mufflex 4" on an 89 Firebird i had, i knew what it looked like installed. I never did take any pictures either....I know they would have been handy for anyone else to see the clearance and whatnot of the exhaust.

Also the drone with either Mufflex wasn't bad really, the Flowmaster did it moreso then the Spintech but either way it wasn't bad enough to complain about.

I just finished installing the 4" dual outlet/spintech on my camaro. The muffler and tailpipes are very visible from the rear. The spintech muffler is way too quiet for me, I'm sure it's a little louder on a non-turbo car. I have messed with the tailpipes/tips for hours trying to get them perfectly centered with no luck. And the tips are kinda cheesy in my opinion. The I-pipe and over the axle area fits perfect, I'm just not happy with the muffler and tailpipes.

If I were able to do it over again, I would have done the mufflex w/flowmaster single outlet. Hope this helps

Last night i was able to get LS1tech to actually work without any 408 timeouts or blank pages. I searched under mufflex and went back to posts from 2006...the earliest. I saw maybe one picture that was any good, the rest of the links were bad. Orangeapeal had some good pictures too...but hes a welder and I wasnt sure how many of the pictures turned out nice because he fabbed something up to make it fit right

One person talked about cutting the tailpipe spout down so it doesnt look like a 6 banger, i liked that idea...but then provided no pictures, lol

It sounds like the spintech is the muffler that i want to go with, even though it killed lots of HP on the dyno...thats why God made cutouts. The only thing left for me to decide is weather to get 3.5" or 4" REMEMBER, I am trying to get this to mate up to a PaceSetter Y pipe. If it aint happening without a welder then i aint goin that route. Wacha think?

Either size will hook up to your Pacesetter Y without any hassles. I'm thinking perhaps the 3.5" setup would be better for alittle more clearance....and it may not be such a hassle to get it set up without any rattles or vibrations. Then again, that 1/2" may not make alot of difference in that dept.

I think I misunderstood your orig. post, I wasn't talking about Mufflex selling the mufflers seperate I was refering to Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Spintech selling them directly

I have seen a few mufflex systems forsale and I think the one's I've seen have an adapter to get it to fit on a 3" y pipe.

Im not really keen on the 6 cylender look (even though i havent seen any pictures of an installed mufflex system yet!!!) but i like MM98s setup A LOT!
Hey man, thanks for compliments.... If you're just going to run the car with a hotcam & no other major mods, then I would go with the 3.5" exhaust.... If you call Mufflex, ask for Denny, tell him you're doing a custom exhaust & that you only need the intermediate pipe to the axle & the one over the axle... I think both of those ran me around $190 together... You can then run the y-pipe & muffler of your choice.... Personally I would go with the 3.5" Hooker aerochamber single in & out dumped muffler & have a pacesetter y fitted with the flowmaster y-collector... Price is good & sounds great, I actually ran that set-up ina 3" version before I went to the mufflex.... Yes it's a little droney, but was the only muffler I was able to find that wasn't raspy as hell... If they made it in a 4" I would be all over it, but I went with the one chamber instead.. Good luck with it & let me know if I can help answer any more questions..

I think i just found a really good deal on a used dual exit spintech 3.5" cat back...with a cutout already in the I pipe. I know its really heavy, and by far not the choice for flow...but this is just a "for now" exhaust. When I move to Alabama Im going to LQ4/TSP True Dual/L92 combo/ big cam. I am just extremely fed up with my raspola Loud Mouth, scrapetastic TSP catted Y, and Virginias laws.

The hotcam is also a "just for now" cam...got it for $120...plus she needs a freshup ie new PRs, springs, oilpump, etc. The cheap cam was just an excuse to tear it down...plus the hotcams sound pretty good.
