SES Light & AIR removal

Just bought an 02 Z28. The guy I bought it from said the AIR system is setting the check engine light, which it is. I scanned it before I bought and it is the AIR system. (2codes) I forget them, but Ill scan it again and list them. Instead of fixing this AIR system, I am planning on removing it anyway. Do I need to delete the code for it to go away, or is there another way.

Also, need a pretty quick fix - Im in PA and I need to pass the OBDII plug in. I'm doing it myself but I still can't beat the computer.

Yeah you'll need to have the codes deleted to make the SES go away. Post the codes first, maybe it's something simple like the air check valves or something - easy to fix yourself and will get you through inspection, then you can do !AIR later.

Took my AIR off and used HP Tuners to set these codes to 'no error reported'
P0410
P0412
P0418
P0420
P1415
P1416

Secondary AIR Injection System - P0410

Secondary AIR Injection System Bank 2 - P0416

Think you mean P1416 on the second code. That's usually just a clogged passenger side air check valve. Visit gearchatter.com and look up P0410 for your year.

Thanks for that help. Another question - any shopowners/techs here that know what scan tools you use to tune these codes out. My father and I own and shop and we have the Modis, Chrsyler DRB, AutoEnginuity, and a few others - they all work great but you can't delete the codes . . Can the GM tech 2 delete codes
