Just take your time...and don't become a member of the "I broke my oil pressure sensor" club.

I am going to be extremely careful when it comes to that... I have read countless numbers of posts about people breaking theirs.

It's pretty straightforward, just don't overtorque the bolts when you're tightening it all down.

a little trick i do is pull up the 5 bolts that won't come out and put tape around them to hold them up. Keeps them from dragging on the heads.

plastic wire covers work well too....

be sure when you put the intake on, that none of the wire or sensors are pinched between the heads and the intake, or youl have a massive vaccum leak.

Clothespins also work to hold up the bolts. Very easy to compress with just two fingers too because the area under the cowl is very tight at least for me it was. Good luck, IMO you need to really try and break the sensor, I had my intake almost halfway off without undoing the booster line from the manifold, just be mindful and that's that. Got the coolant lines or doing the grinding?

Lots of people cut the bottom on the intake - IMO get the pipe/plugs.

I think im going to go ahead and get the pipe and plugs. I would rather spend a few extra bucks and do it the "right" way.

Are these the only three parts that im going to need?

- 1x 2001+ front coolant pipe - #12568478
- 2x 2001+ rear coolant plugs - #12562788 (Note, you can use a 2nd coolant pipe in place of these plugs if necessary)

You have to be a tard to break the oil pressure sensor. Just use a hammer and chisel and go to town on the tabs on the bottom of the intake. Just take your time and it's cake.

I bought some 1/4" hose at auto zone, cut into 1" pieces, then sliced down the side so it would slip over bolt and not let it fall back down.Worked great.
I have the coolant lines and block offs as a kit from SLP I was going to sell in the classifieds when I get around to it.If you are interested PM me and I can send a pic tonight and save you a few bucks.

You might want to consider getting the LS6 valley cover that moves the pcv mess out of the valve covers. Thunder racing has a kit with all the stuff you need ready to go.

I was thinking the same thing. I did mine this weekend and now I look like I was attacked by a rose bush or something on my arms. Good luck man. Take your time and it will all go smoothly.

Get a 8mm ratcheting gear wrench and use rubber bands to hold up the rear 5 bolts on the intake.

I resent that. When a pos plastic piece is almost 10 years old and has been heated up and cooled so many times, only time will tell how long it will last. Apparently it was almost 10 years.

On a side note, I gained oil pressure switching oil sending units

I was able to lift my intake right out without doing any clothespin deal or anything. My install was hell in itself, but I assume an ls6 swap would go much easier. It took about 45 mins to get everything off and cleaned.

If you have your pcv stuff this would be a good time to inspect the hoses too. I just capped everything off before I even did the install and put a breather on it, my hoses were broken. I think thats it.
