Default Hedman X pipe & true duals are on!! (pic's)

I just got back from the muffler shop, 2 thumbs to Oakley Mufflers out here in Cali!! They had everything up within an hour. It looked very easy the way they did it..couple bends here, couple there..cutting, welding...DONE! Any good muffler shop can do the same and not charge an arm & a leg doing it.

The first shop I went to looked really puzzled for about 10 min and finally said he could do it. Then I asked how long, "day or two" , then I asked how much, "couple hundred" . I didn't say anything after that, I just walked off.

I was then referred by a member of the NorCal-Ls1 crew (Black Magic)..he said to check out Oakley Mufflers. I went there and set everything up, they said "no problem". Total cost was $150.

I bought the X pipe from Jegs, http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...435&prmenbr=76 .

She now has a deeeep rumble @ cruise & screams @ WOT. Just the way I want it!! I am totally satisfied with this setup and highly recommend it. Just remember before I had a LOUDMOUTH w/ Dynomax bullets in the Y, so, I'm used to loud.

Performance, she's really torquey *spelling* off the line and @ cruise and really opens up on the freeway w/ very good throttle response.

Before & After pic's are in sig. I also snapped a pic of a Flowmaster Muffler, IMO it looks very restrictive.

Peace

WOW!!!! Bet she Sounds like JOHN FORCE! Got a question though. How do your tail pipes look? Two 3"'s on the right, or were you able to keep the Quad flow gimmic? and How?

It looks like an excellent setup! There seem to be a few more trying out the x-pipe w/ Dynomax bullets. I'd definitely do it if I knew it wasn't so loud! great setup and pics

Looks good! I have one question.....I have a 3rd Gen, why does it look like there is 10 times more room under LS1 cars for exhaust than my car? I managed to run true duals w/ an "H" on my car, I used oval exhaust tubing for ground clearance.

Is it much louder than the regular loudmouth system? Also, do you plan on dynoing it to find out if it was worth any power?

i wonder if it is any louder than my LT header, no cat and single bullet to dual tips? hmmmm. i dont like the idea of the exhuast dumping out the bottom (smell) and vibration. looks great though!

I'm gonna try and get sound clips later when I get home from work.

Believe it or not, its not all that loud, I think it maybe a little tamer than the LM. It has more of a controlled sound. It really rumbles..sounds like I have a cam, but I didn't get my Hammer installed yet.

I think I'll try and get a spot on the dyno this weekend. I'll keep you guys updated.

ya, is it louder or quieter than the loudmouth you had? are those 2.5" bullets or 3"? in the picture, it looks like there is an expansion before the bullet, bu that it also looks like it is just a slip joint. i'm thinking about doing the same setup with stock manifolds, but am not sure if i want my exhaust that loud.
