What do you think about this setup
What do you think about this setup 1 7/8" Dynatech headers with 3" merge collectors and true dual exhaust. Would I lose or gain any bottom since the pipes are so big. I guess i went 1 7/8" because on the stock motor you can run 1 3/4 but i think that when you started to do head cam and all that other stuff that you would have to ugrade anyway. What other advantages do the 1 7/8 have over the 1 3/4. How would the 1 7/8" perform on a bolt on car only (no cam/heads) maybe an intake manifold.
Curently the car is a 2000 SS with lid 4.10 gears(M6), pulley, flowmaster(that i will lose after the header install) and ported MAF.

Re: What do you think about this setup That exhaust could be rather big for a stock-cubed car without heads/cam. You could lose low-end (and mid-range??) torque due to lost exhaust flow velocity. That could kill your pulling power on the street.
On the other hand, if you had good heads with a *big* cam and/or a bigger cubed motor, I think that could be a really good setup. I would also want to include an x-pipe in the configuration to help with the flow.
