How the freak do you get the stock pully off?!
It was pretty tight.

I mean, 99.99% of everyones troubles is getting the crank bolt loose...not the pulley out. I didn't see any mention of that in your post.

Don't get me wrong, it was very tight and put a lot of strain on the puller. Like the other guys said, go with a good 3 prong puller that can hook to the inside of the pulley and push on the head of the old bolt. Combine that with a few taps on the back with a 2x4 and some patience.
Good luck,
dogged down so it's got good preload, and then
"ring" the pulley hub with a drift and hammer.
You can use a cheapo 3/8" extension or a piece
of cold-rolled, if you don't have a nice non-
marking brass drift. You want to hit the inner
(hub) part of the pulley, not the outer part
of the pulley. Just keep the preload on, and
keep ringing its bell. Eventually it will creep.
Then retighten the puller and go again (until
the puller just pulls the pulley, heh).
You may want to ping alternating sides for luck,
or to reduce boredom. Just keep at it, patience
is cheaper than violence.
