"E-Check" in Ohio???.....I'm moving to Dayton
Looks like I am moving to Dayton, and the Air Force base says they require all cars to do E-Check. I am wondering if I will be exempt if my car is registered in Tennessee (legal home of record).
If I have to get the check, what is involved?
Thanks!

If you buy plates in Ohio you must, in some counties, do the E-Check. It is a rolling test at 50 mph on a dyno. If you want Ohio plates, your WS6 my be on the "Colectables" list. My SS is one the list and I don't have to do E-Check. Only catch is the SS can't be my only reg. vehicle. It's done on first time plate and then odd and even years, your 98 would be up again in 2004.... hope this helped...Go AF

If you have Tennesse plates you will not have to worry about E-check.
Since you are moving to Dayton check out the Cincy/Dayton F-body club.http://www.gcfba.com/

Rex...got the flaring tool...thanks! May be selling the TNT wet kit if you know of anyone. Gonna get direct port kit after I move.
NB99Z....glad to hear that. I was thinking I'd be OK with out-of-state plates, but wanted to make sure.
Looking forward to all that midwestern car stuff out there. Definitiely a good area for car lovers!

hey Todd...
my buddy yoosof has Florida plates still from a little over a year ago when he moved here. has WI insurance, but still the florida plates. if he wanted to keep them, he'd have to go down there and reregister the car again. but otherwise you are safe for a while at the very least. good luck and good choice on location!!

Are you from around Nashville? You should tell me the next time you come to TN for a visit. Maybe we can hook up. I heard you hung out with Ron a little while back.

Yep...went out with that chain-smoking, foul-mouthed, SOB while i was in Korea
Tennessee is my "home of record" for the military, so I can legally have my car registered there and be a "non-resident" in whatever state I happen to be in. Not a problem to keep my plates. I renew through the mail.

Hey Reckless when you get to Dayton let me and NB99Z know so we can all meet up somewhere. We have three local tracks, well local as with-in 50 miles of Dayton.
