Default H Pipe location ideas please...

Current: TTS longtubes; 3" duals, ovalized into round; 3" bullet mufflers; turndowns before the axle

I want to add an H pipe to my setup. I know all about the paint/crayon test, but does anyone know generally how far back I should go? I mainly want to quiet the exhaust down.

I am also swapping on different mufflers, Borla XR1's oval.

Why are you picking the H over the X? I thought about this, maninly because it would be cheaper to do the H but, then I thought I would loose out on some HP.

I'd say at a minimum 15" from the collector. I've always used 18", and that's worked best for me.

Thanks for the response! How did you arrive to those numbers? I'll try that if we weld up the H pipe tomorrow.

Spend the money and get an X. You got a fricking expensive set-up, don't wimp out here.

I cannot do an X without extensively redoing my exhaust, since it's ovalized 3". And I doubt an X is worth significantly more than an H.
