HELP...BANGING ON MY FLOORBOARDS????? Just got the car back on the road after all the mods but know when I accelerate all I hear is thump,thump,thump from under the driver side floor...What gives??? I installed SLP LT's,LM,CAI,air lid,3.73's,SY3500,STB,SFC,LCA,PHR

Re: HELP...BANGING ON MY FLOORBOARDS????? Has to be the driver side of the Y pipe. When you accelerate hard, due to the way the engine twists, that side of the y gets forced up towards the floorboard.

Re: HELP...BANGING ON MY FLOORBOARDS????? What I heard that you have to do is first, locate where your ypipe is banging. Then, loosen up the exhaust and mount a 2x4 block in the banging area. Tighten up the bolts, and then knock out the 2x4.
Re: HELP...BANGING ON MY FLOORBOARDS????? I agree that it's probably the driver's-side of the y-pipe. Some have used a crow bar to bend the y-pipe down some, and it has worked. Others have used some fuel injection hose to provide a cushion between the y-pipe and floorboard, and the problem was solved. Just look for the scuff marks on the bottom of the car.

Re: HELP...BANGING ON MY FLOORBOARDS????? I had the same problem with my 99 TA when I had my SLP headers and Y pipe installed the Y pipe was banging into the floorboard when I hit gas hard. I took it back and they took took the pipe off and heated up the top of the pipe and melted it down a little so it would stop hitting. It is a real pain in the as though.
