Default Muffler Choices.

I have an event I'd like to run and I'm gonna stick either Flowmasters or Spintechs on the end of my Off-Road pipes and turndowns. What would you all go with since I'll have mufflers and will be legal except for the cage.

Do a quick search over the past 2 weeks. There are about 10 post on this same subject . Just plug in "Dual"

I've got one single 4" Spintech and it sounds great. IMO Flows are overdone but do sound good.
I'm a Spintech believer....

I vote Dynomax Ultraflow welded mufflers.

Did you do duals?

I have duals and just removed the 3" bullets I had on there, it was too loud and it was very raunchy, and I am not 16 years old.

I put on some Borla XR1 Sportsmans and also did an H pipe and it sounds very good.

I like how Flowmasters sound but distrust how well they flow.

Ditto for Spintech. Not sure how well they flow either.

I haven't as of yet, but I'm going to just stick either the Spintech or Flowmasters on the end of my Off-Road pipes and turndowns to be legal for an event here. I want it to sound good and flow as good or better than my single 3" SS exhaust even though it's going through the cutout, an awful lot still goes through the muffler. Anyway who would go with Spintech and who'd go with Flows?

Flowmaster will sound better, IMO. I would use a 40 series on each side (if they fit)

What kinda sound should I expect? I want something better and as loud as my cutout is uncapped which is how I drive the car around everyday since it's my only car. Should I put turndowns on or just let it exit the muffler normally? I have 3" off-roads so I need 3" inlet and does it need to be center/center or offset/center exit? Should I do 3" inlet and 3" outlet or 3" inlet and 2.5" outlet?

Food for thought...I thought I did enough research before I decided on a muffler. Wrong...Wanted an exellent flowing, deep throaty sound but not real loud. I have a custom 3" Y pipe, mufflex 3.5" intermediate with a Spintech 3.5" in dual 3" out. Sounds bad *** but costs me over 26hp at the tires!! Thats not good flow if you ask me !! Tring to find something better but not give up the noise factor. That may be impossible though...

Any other ideas, so far I think I'm gonna go with Flowmaster DeltaForce Race Mufflers.

Hogan, stay away from the Flows, althought they may sound good, they don't flwo for *****! Go with the Dynomax's that PSJ reccomended, you're not gonna outflow those, trust me! Hell, just weld some Dynomax bullets onto the ends if that's all you're wanting to do. They're cheap, and they'll pass as mufflers. Get the 3" in/out obviously, and they only come one way, center in/out. http://store.summitracing.com/global.../WLK-24215.jpg They're only $37, and they're straight through!
