Default Ls1 or Ls6 intake

How can i tell if i already have a LS6 intake. I know the intake has been removed but i don't know if it was replaced. Any way to look it up by part # or somethimg like that. I will be removing it in the near future. Any visually noticable differences?

Thumbs up

If its the same intake that came with the car then its a LS1 intake. 01 and up got the LS6 from the factory. You can go to the LS1 newbie tech section and theres a sticky with all of our part numbers for our car. Hope that helps.

Default Ls6

If your car has an egr, + coolant lines that run under the intake to the back of the heads, i would say that is a 99% indication that it is a Ls1 intake. If it is a Ls1 you can also tell even if someone takes off the egr, Because there is a hole on top of the intake, right behind the throttle body.

LS6 intakes generally dont have a Hole on top for egr, unless it is a aftermarket by SLP

Ls6 intake are slightly larger that if you tried to to put the stock coolant lines under it, you would most likely have had to notch the bottom of it.

Hope that helps

Brian

get the number off the intake and type it into google. It should find some post on here or Corvette forum with the numbers and intakes that GM made throughout the years.

Part # is 12560688. Its a LS1 f-body intake with EGR. Looks like i'll have to add an LS6 intake to my parts to buy list. Thanks for the help.
