Default qtp y pipe, bad ground clearance!!!

Well I installed my qtp's and ory the other day. The headers are top notch, no k member grinding or any other fitment problems at all. But the y pipe is a turd. No matter how I adjust it, there is a low spot on the driver side. I know its gonna be a little lower on that side, but I have like 3.5" of clearance in one spot! Should I just take that section of pipe out and try to add an extra bend or something?

My TSP y-pipe does the same thing with my pacesetters.

Its just something you gotta deal with.

Thanks, that just helped me eliminate theirs. Now you see why I've been asking about Hooker vs Pacesetter or whoever for my QTP's.

Man thats terrible. I bought the Dynatech Supermaxx System. It cost me $1295 but it has the best clearance of any Header/Catted Y I've seen so far. I've got a friend that got a Dynatech System for his Vette and it has excellent ground clearance also. You don't hear much about them but they are all stailness steel and fit like a glove.

Take a look at my Kooks Corsa setup. Pictures are in my sig. Everything slipped in place real easy and there is absolutely no banging. Clearance is outstanding.

I think I have maybe 1.5 inches of clearance if im lucky. The qtp ypipe flows well but has the worst clearance possible. Im on Eibach prokit and im just gonna let the ypipe clearance itself when it wants.

keep working with it man. i used to think the clearence was terrible with the Mufflex Y (qtp Y) but i kept adjusting and its ok. I'm stock ride height but I'm comfortable with what i have now.

the qtp y does indeed hang lower than what i think it should no matter how much adjusting you do. i'm lowered with a sportline kit with a 3,650 lb land barge. a coke cam laying down still likes probably over a 1/2" from clearing on the driver side. it's like driving an old school low-rider.
