Default K&N Open Filter

For a little while now K&N has been out with an open filter setup (FIPK) for the LS1. I was wondering how much of a benefit does it give you over a setup that includes the free ram air mod, the lid, and a K&N replacement filter. The open filter is like over $300, compared to the $200 bucks i paid for my setup, does the extra money give you any more performance????

I suggest you do a "search" on this subject. There has been loads of discussions on FIPK vs Lid on this forum in the past month. I have the FIPK II setup on my SS and believe the benefit is well worth the cost. Others will disagree and claim the aftermarket lid is best. Get the facts and you decide. And don't forget to use "common logic".

You'll get mixed opinions about this.
I dyno tested it,average of 6 RWHP over lid, Powershot filter in FRA.
In fact I just did FRA on my FIPK yesterday.
Just cut a nice strip out of the metal just like on the stock one.
