i know that the two are different but how different. does the truck harmonic balancer stick out more than the LS1's? i am curious because i am using a truck harmonic balancer and wanting to use LS1 accessories. i figured that the LS1 accessory belt is closer to the engine than the truck's is, but for all i know it might be the same. a little help. if you could measure from the timing cover to your accessory belt that woud be a great deal of help.

well there is more to the story as it usual is. the rotating assembly has been balanced, and the water pump is a hybrid, its an LS1 water pump with a truck pulley. if the only difference between the truck and the LS1 accessory systems is that the truck is farther from the front of the block compared to the LS1, then shimming the accessory brackets would be the answer.

i think if i shim the F body accessory bracket that houses the alternator and the power steering pump, i won't have a problem, and i will just keep the passager side of the engine truck style.

I agree, shimming them could me a big pain in the ***. Unless you dont have the money to buy new accesories, I would say get all the same ones.
